Dr. Mukadam is a Professor in the Division of Psychiatry at University College London (UCL), where she also serves as a Consultant Psychiatrist in the Mental Health Liaison Team at UCLH. Dr. Mukadam has received a doctoral research training fellowship from NIHR, aimed at designing and testing interventions to encourage South Asian people to seek help for dementia. She has collaborated on numerous studies, with a continuing interest in the inequalities associated with ethnicity, expanding her research to include dementia epidemiology. As a member of the Lancet standing Commission on Dementia Prevention, Intervention, and Care, she collaborates with international experts to identify best practices in dementia care. She is also part of the European Consortium for Cross-Cultural Neuropsychology and co-leads the dementia prevention theme for the NIHR Dementia and Neurodegeneration Policy Research Unit at Queen Mary University of London. Additionally, Dr. Mukadam is involved in Interdem, a pan-European network focused on research dissemination and interventions for dementia.
