Biography

Nabarun Deb's research interests include statistical inference for dependent data (time series, networks, etc.), statistical machine learning with an emphasis on optimal transport, and nonparametric inference. His work has appeared in prestigious venues such as the Journal of the American Statistical Association, Journal of Machine Learning Research, Neural Information Processing Systems, Bernoulli, and Annals of Applied Probability. Before joining Booth, Nabarun was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the PIMS Kantorovich Initiative at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. He received his PhD in statistics from Columbia University and also earned his Bachelor of Statistics and Master of Statistics from the Indian Statistical Institute in Kolkata.
