Biography

Nabeel Nabulsi obtained a BA degree in Chemistry (pre-Medicine) from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1980, an MS degree in Organic Chemistry from Texas Tech University in 1984, and a PhD in Chemistry/Organic/Bioorganic from Louisiana State University in 1991. He worked as the director of Organic Chemistry labs at the University of Jordan for Women and was a senior scientist at Hikma Pharmaceuticals. He has experience in the development of methods for antiseptic coatings for medical devices at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Nabulsi received a training fellowship in PET radiochemistry at the University of Michigan and joined the Yale PET Center in 2006. His research focuses on the development of radiopharmaceuticals for PET imaging, particularly those involving short half-life radioisotopes. He aims to improve binding properties of radioligands and develop new ligands for early diagnosis of neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. Nabulsi's work also explores novel therapeutic targets like fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH) in medical research, with implications for cancer treatment and drug delivery.
