Biography

Professor Nabil Esmail graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University in the Russian Federation with BSc, MSc, and PhD degrees. He served as Dean of Concordia's Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science from 1997 to 2008, and as the founding Chair of the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan from 1982 to 1994. His teaching experience includes positions at the University of Toronto's Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry, Ain-Shams University in Cairo, and Cairo's Technical Military College. A fellow of several prestigious organizations including the Canadian Academy of Engineering and the Engineering Institute of Canada, he has contributed to over 160 scientific publications over nearly six decades. His research interests encompass Liquid Coating Mechanics, Rheology, and Mechanical Properties of Polymeric Liquids, among others. Professor Esmail is also known for his comprehensive teaching in fluid mechanics and advanced engineering mathematics, receiving multiple accolades for his academic leadership and teaching excellence.
