Biography

Nada Jabado is a professor in the Departments of Pediatrics and Human Genetics at McGill University and an associate member of the Department of Pathology. As a staff physician at the Division of Hematology Oncology at the Montreal Children’s Hospital, she has been an independent investigator since 2003, leading pioneering research on pediatric brain tumors. Her work has identified critical histone mutations that have transformed the understanding of disorders associated with these cancer types. Jabado has over 200 peer-reviewed publications in prominent journals, including Nature Genetics and Science, and has been an invited keynote speaker at international symposia. In 2021, she received the Canadian Cancer Society's Robert L. Noble Prize for her outstanding contributions to cancer research. Her current research focuses on elucidating genetic signatures in pediatric astrocytomas, aiming to establish better therapeutic strategies and improve patient outcomes. She is also leading the creation of the International Childhood Astrocytoma Integrated Genomic Epigenomic (ICHANGE) Consortium, which promotes global collaboration in researching childhood gliomas.
