Biography

Nadeem Siddiqi is a Professor in the School of Linguistics and Language Studies at Carleton University, with extensive expertise in formal linguistic theory, particularly in the areas of morphology and grammatical architecture. His research primarily explores the development of the Lexical Realizational Functional Grammar model of grammar, which integrates Distributed Morphology and Lexical Functional Grammar. He has a significant background in stem allomorphy, syncretism, and suppletion in morphological phenomena, alongside secondary interests in syntax, morphophonemics, and lexical processing. Siddiqi leads the Morphology Lab within SLaLS, which houses post-doctoral fellows and PhD Research Assistants and is known for its distinct, grant-funded research initiatives. He also participates in various collaborative international projects addressing morphological phenomena. In addition to his research endeavors, he teaches graduate seminars in Morphology and supervises students on topics related to morphological theory and phenomena.
