Biography

Nader Azizi is a Senior Lecturer in Business Analytics at the University of Edinburgh Business School. He graduated with a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ottawa and joined UEBS in 2018. Promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2022, he was previously a lecturer at the University of Kent. Nader has taught undergraduate and postgraduate subjects including Management Science, Operations Analytics, Soft Computing, and Mathematical Programming. He has been recognized with nominations for teaching awards including the UEBS Excellence in Teaching and EUSA Teaching Awards. His research interests lie in the interrelated areas of operational research and operations management, with a focus on computational intelligence. His current research explores tactical design and operational planning in logistics and supply chains, particularly under data uncertainty and random disruption, and he has a keen interest in Behavioral Operations Research. Nader has published numerous articles in reputable journals and currently serves as an associate editor for the International Journal of Systems Science: Operations & Logistics. He is a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy and supervises several PhD students.
