Biography

Nadereh Pourat is an esteemed associate director of the Health Economics Evaluation Research Program at the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research. She is a professor in Health Policy Management at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, as well as in the UCLA School of Dentistry. Additionally, she is a member of the UCLA/Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center, where she contributes to the Division of Cancer Prevention and Control Research. Pourat's research primarily focuses on assessing disparities in access to care among underserved populations and the impact of the healthcare delivery system on health outcomes. Her work critically examines disparities in insurance coverage, healthcare utilization across various settings, and among diverse populations. She has extensive experience in evaluating numerous programs on national, statewide, and local levels, utilizing mixed methods evaluation designs. Pourat is actively involved in designing and implementing surveys and has served on technical advisory committees. She holds a Ph.D. in Health Services and a Master of Science in Health Services from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University, Northridge.
