Biography

Nadia Caidi is a Professor at the Faculty of Information, University of Toronto, and the inaugural Director of the International Student Engagement Faculty. She has a Ph.D. in Information Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles, and is trained in Linguistics and Communication from Universite Lumiere Lyon 2 and Universite Stendhal in France. Since joining the Toronto iSchool in 2000, she has focused on teaching, researching, and mentoring students in areas related to human information behaviour, information policy, and the social implications of information communication technologies. She co-edited the book 'Humanizing LIS Education Practice: Diversity Design,' published by Routledge in 2021, and served as the executive producer for a five-minute animated film titled 'Canada’s Failed Promise Women STEM,' in collaboration with TechGirls Canada, based on her ongoing research. Caidi has previously held significant leadership roles, including President of the Canadian Association for Information Science and the International Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T).
