Biography

Nadine Fabbi is an Acting Assistant Professor and the Director of the Canadian Studies Center at the Jackson School of International Studies. Appointed in 1999, she has been pivotal in transforming the Center from a modest unit into a well-known global player with an international reputation. Nadine has led numerous projects, including initiatives to build Arctic minors in the contiguous United States and establishing the nation’s Fulbright Canada Visiting Chair in Arctic Studies. She offers fellowships for the study of Inuit and Nuu-chah-nulth languages and founded the Task Force on Arctic Studies, which includes an undergraduate capstone course. In addition, she has run various programs to support graduate student research and exchanged programs with the University of Victoria and The University of British Columbia. Prior to her current role, Nadine secured over $11 million through U.S. Department of Education Title VI grants for graduate fellowships focused on French Indigenous languages.
