Dr. Nadir Weber

Biography

Nadir Weber is an Associate Professor at the Institute of History at the University of Bern. His research specializes in Early Modern Swiss History, focusing on the foreign relations and political culture of the 17th and 18th centuries. His academic work explores the interplay of nobility and courtly society, human-animal relations during the early modern period, and the political secrecy inherent in the governance of the Swiss Confederation. He is currently leading the SNSF Eccellenza Project titled 'Republican Secrets: Silence, Memory, Collective Rule Early Modern Period,' which investigates the complexities of power and memory in the political landscape of early modern republics. Weber's contributions to the field include a comprehensive list of publications detailing his insights into these subjects.
