Naimul Khan obtained his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering, as well as an MSc and BSc in Computer Science from Ryerson University, the University of Windsor, and the Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology, respectively. His research focuses on designing interactive methods for visual computing to bridge the gap between end-users and systems. He has made significant contributions in the fields of machine learning, computer vision, and medical imaging. Prior to his current role as an Assistant Professor and Associate Chair of Undergraduate Programs at Toronto Metropolitan University, Dr. Khan served as a research engineer at Sunnybrook Research Institute and as the R&D Manager at AWE Company Ltd. He led the Fort York Time Tablet project in partnership with the City of Toronto to create an augmented reality exhibit that highlights the history of Fort York, which garnered significant media and public attention. He is a recipient of several awards including the OCE TalentEdge Postdoctoral Fellowship and the Ontario Graduate Scholarship, as well as the Queen Elizabeth II Graduate Scholarship in Science & Technology. Dr. Khan is also a member of the IEEE Signal Processing Society and the ACM SIGGRAPH Toronto chapter.
