Biography

Nakiya N. Showell is an Associate Professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and serves as the Medical Director of the Harriet Lane Clinic. With a career focused on pediatric health disparities, Dr. Showell aims to address socioeconomic and racial/ethnic disparities through both innovative clinical practices and impactful research. She has been actively involved in numerous projects aimed at mitigating obesity and cardiovascular disease risks among marginalized and minoritized populations. Her leadership has been recognized nationally, including her selection as a 40 Under 40 Leader in Health by the National Minority Quality Forum.
