Biography

Nametso received his PhD in Medical Sciences from the University of Botswana in 2022. His PhD project evaluated HIV-1C compartmentalisation in cerebrospinal fluid and plasma of individuals with HIV-associated cryptococcal meningitis in Botswana. He has authored and co-authored several publications stemming from his PhD work and ongoing HIV-related research. Currently, he works at Yale University, focusing on assessing the evolutionary dynamics of HIV-1 in cerebrospinal fluid and blood of individuals with early untreated HIV infection. His research interests involve understanding the mechanisms of HIV pathogenesis and the implications for neurocognitive outcomes. Nametso actively participates in academic conferences and has presented his findings on HIV-1 drug resistance mutations and related topics internationally, including poster and oral presentations at significant AIDS conferences.
