Biography

Nan Chen joined the University of Ottawa in July 2025 as an assistant professor in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He received his doctorate in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Waterloo in 2019. Following this, he was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Waterloo from 2019 to 2020. From 2021 to 2025, he worked as an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Tennessee Tech University, USA. His current research interests include resource allocation, infrastructure planning for electric vehicles, vehicular networks (5G/6G), and smart grids.
