Biography

Nan Wu obtained his B.Eng and M.Sc. from Northeastern University, China, in 2005 and 2008 respectively, and received his PhD degree in 2012 from the University of Manitoba. He is currently a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Manitoba. His teaching and research interests span Mechanical Vibration, Smart Materials Structures, Metamaterials, and Nano-technology, with applications in Structural Health Monitoring and Energy Harvesting. Wu has published over 90 journal papers in high-quality international journals, including the Journal of Sound and Vibration and the International Journal of Engineering Science, and holds 3 patents in the areas of energy harvesting and structural health monitoring using smart materials. Additionally, he serves on the editorial boards of multiple international journals and has reviewed for more than 50 journals in his field.
