Biography

Dr. Nan Zheng received BSc, MSc, and PhD degrees in Transportation Engineering from Southeast University (China), Delft University of Technology, and École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in 2007, 2009, and 2014, respectively. In November 2014, he was appointed as a Post-doc at the EPFL Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETHZ). By October 2016, he had taken up the position of Associate Professor at Beihang University in Beijing within the School of Transportation. Dr. Zheng later joined the Institute of Transport Studies at Monash University as a Senior Lecturer. His research interests encompass traffic flow theory, traffic big data, urban traffic operation control, and multi-modal next-generation traffic management. He has published extensively in prestigious journals focused on traffic engineering and the Transportation Research series, addressing significant topics in these areas. His work aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in enhancing mobility infrastructure and transport planning.
