Dr. Nancy Blace

Biography

Dr. Nancy Blace is a Neuro-Ophthalmologist at NYU Langone Health, specializing in diagnosing and treating complex vision problems that are related to disorders of the nervous system. She has a deep-seated interest in neuro-ophthalmology, driven by her personal experiences and the challenges presented in diagnosing neuro-ophthalmologic conditions. Dr. Blace employs a multidisciplinary approach, collaboratively working with ophthalmic specialists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, rheumatologists, and oncologists to provide comprehensive care to her patients. Given the complexity and variety of neuro-ophthalmologic conditions, she understands the critical importance of precise diagnostic procedures that often involve advanced imaging modalities and thorough clinical evaluations. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to supporting her patients, immersing herself in the challenges they face, and ensuring they have clear guidance throughout their disease management. Dr. Blace's clinical expertise includes treating conditions like idiopathic intracranial hypertension, optic neuritis, and thyroid eye disease, among others. She completed her Medical Doctor degree and her PhD at SUNY Downstate in 2003, followed by a residency in Ophthalmology at the SUNY Health Science Center Brooklyn and a fellowship in Neuro-Ophthalmology. Her goal is to reassure and educate patients on their conditions, drawing from her medical knowledge and personal insights into the complexities they encounter.
