Biography

Nancy Butcher is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto, where she also serves as a Cundill Scholar at the Cundill Centre for Child and Youth Depression at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). Dr. Butcher completed her PhD in Medical Science at the University of Toronto, followed by a post-doctoral fellowship at CAMH. She has earned her MSc in Psychology and Neuroscience and a BSc in Neuroscience from Dalhousie University. Prior to her role at SickKids, she was a mental health clinical trialist at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Butcher leads the TORCH (Toronto Outcomes Research Child Health) initiative and directs the Toronto EQUATOR Canada Publication School, emphasizing the importance of research integrity. Her research primarily focuses on improving the quality of research in neuropsychiatric pediatric populations, with significant interest in clinical research methodology and publication practices that benefit knowledge users including patients, clinicians, researchers, and policymakers.
