Dr. Naomi Baker

Biography

Naomi Hatsfelt Baker joined the Department of Communication Arts and Sciences in 2022. She teaches effective communication (CAS 100A) and collaborative communication (CAS 100B). With more than 20 years of experience, Naomi has taught theatre in higher education and has worked as a professional actress and singer. Currently, she is studying and researching media, communication, and popular culture. Naomi expects to complete her Ph.D. in Media Communications Studies at Indiana University of Pennsylvania by 2023. Her research interests include representation, identity, small group communication, and popular culture. In addition, she has worked as a private voice/speech image coach for business clients, beauty queens, news anchors, and pastors. In her free time, Naomi enjoys singing, listening to music, leading Bible studies, and spending time with her family.
