Biography

Naomi T. Campa is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Classics at the University of Texas at Austin, where she specializes in Greek intellectual history, ancient political theory, and Greek oratory. She earned her BA in Classics from New College of Florida and her MA and PhD in Classics from the University of Washington, with her doctoral research focusing on the connections between literary and institutional structures in classical Athens. Dr. Campa's current research interests include the intention behind Antiphon’s vocabulary and questions surrounding sovereignty in ancient Athens. She is engaged in various academic associations including the Lambda Classical Caucus and the Mountaintop Coalition, and she contributes to the Stories Ancient Resilience project.
