Professor Naomi McClure-Griffiths is an Australian Research Council Laureate Fellow and Associate Director of Research at the Research School of Astronomy & Astrophysics, Australian National University. She received her undergraduate degree in Physics from Oberlin College and her PhD in Astrophysics from the University of Minnesota. She has held prominent positions including Science Leader at CSIRO's Australia Telescope National Facility and has been a pivotal figure in advancing interstellar gas and magnetic field studies in the Milky Way and nearby galaxies. Professor McClure-Griffiths is also a co-Principal Investigator for multiple large observational surveys including the Australian SKA Pathfinder and is currently involved in planning for the Square Kilometre Array. Her contributions to physics have been recognized with several prestigious awards including the 2006 Prime Minister’s Malcolm McIntosh Prize for Physical Scientist of the Year and the Pawsey medal from the Australian Academy of Science which she was elected to in 2022.
