Dr. Narendra Das

Biography

Narendra N. Das is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering at Michigan State University. He earned his Ph.D. in Biological Agricultural Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2008. His research focuses on large-scale hydrological modeling and the application of remote sensing techniques in hydrology and agriculture. His interests include developing methodologies for microwave remote sensing and soil moisture application, as well as crop modeling and its impact on climate. Dr. Das has been actively involved in hydrologic modeling, data assimilation, and citizen science initiatives aimed at enhancing agricultural hydrology. He is committed to advancing understanding and strategies to optimize water resources and improve agricultural practices through innovative research and collaboration. He leads the Remote Sensing in Hydrology and Agriculture Laboratory, where he fosters interdisciplinary research that addresses critical challenges in water management and agricultural sustainability.
