Biography

Narendra Malalgoda is an Assistant Professor in Supply Chain Management at the Asper School of Business, University of Manitoba. He completed his Ph.D. in Transportation Logistics with an emphasis on Logistics Supply Chain Systems in 2020. He also holds an MSc in International Agribusiness from North Dakota State University, USA. Before joining the Asper School of Business, he completed post-doctoral training in the Department of Agribusiness and Agricultural Economics at the University of Manitoba. His research projects are focused on public transit efficiency and factors impacting public transit ridership in the U.S., and he also contributed to addressing research gaps in rural transportation in North America. His ongoing research interests include efficiency and productivity in the transportation sector, where he aims to build research infrastructure for using geospatial databases for supply chain optimization in response to critical events. He plans to employ Geographical Information Systems and Remote Sensing techniques for strategically managing supply chain systems in Canada with minimal disruption during weather-related emergencies. He is also a recipient of the 2022 Associates Teaching Award.
