Biography

Narine Lalafaryan is an Assistant Professor of Corporate Law at the University of Cambridge, Fellow of the Cambridge Endowment Research Finance, and a Fellow of Pembroke College, Cambridge. His research and teaching interests span Corporate Finance, Law Economics, Deals, International Finance, and Corporate Law. Narine previously served as a Lecturer in Corporate/Financial Law at UCL and held visiting scholar positions at Harvard Law School and the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law. His interdisciplinary PhD thesis focused on 'Uncertainty in Debt Finance: Reconceptualising Material Adverse Change Clauses', which won the prestigious York Prize at the University of Cambridge. He is also the recipient of multiple scholarships and awards, including the Hogan Lovells PhD Scholarship and the Paper Prize from the Society of Legal Scholars for his noted work in economic analysis of law. Narine is currently working on a book about Material Adverse Change Clauses, based on his doctoral research, and is engaged in projects assessing the evolving landscape of private credit in corporate finance in light of recent global crises.
