Dr. Nasar Khan

Biography

Dr. Nasar Khan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Queen's University. He received his training in Pakistan and has held various prominent positions in the field of psychiatry, including serving as President of the Pakistan Psychiatric Society. Dr. Khan has a strong focus on integrating interdisciplinary teams comprising psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers to achieve high standards in clinical, research, and teaching responsibilities. He is passionate about teaching and training in behavioral sciences for undergraduate students and postgraduate trainees across various medical disciplines. Dr. Khan has experience working as a visiting faculty member at the University of the Punjab, where he served as a supervisor and trainer for students in the Advanced Diploma in Clinical Psychology program. His research interests encompass several areas, including the development of anxiety management guidelines and treatment guidelines for major depressive disorders and PTSD. He has also worked on translating and adapting instruments for the study of bipolar disorders and has engaged in research relating to childhood and developmental disorders, particularly autism within the Pakistani community.
