Biography

Nasir Rajpoot is a Professor of Computational Pathology at the University of Warwick, where he is also the founding Director of the Tissue Image Analytics Centre. Originally from Multan, Pakistan, he completed his PhD in Computer Science at Warwick in 2001 after earning a postgraduate fellowship in the Applied Math program at Yale University from 1998 to 2000. His prior experience includes a systems engineering fellowship at PIEAS in Pakistan from 1994 to 1996. Rajpoot has garnered significant recognition for his contributions to the field, receiving the prestigious Wolfson Fellowship from the UK Royal Society and the Turing Fellowship at the Alan Turing Institute, a key data science institute in the UK. He is a co-Director of the PathLAKE centre of excellence, which focuses on the application of artificial intelligence in pathology, supported by £15 million in funding. As of February 2024, he leads the Histofy team, which is focused on enhancing precision diagnostics within clinical and pharmaceutical workflows.
