Biography

Nasser Ary Tanimoune holds a Doctorate in Economics from the University of Orléans, France, where he also completed his post-doctoral research financed by the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) at the Centre for Studies and Research on International Development (CERDI) in Clermont-Ferrand. He was awarded the Abdoulaye FADIGA Prize by the Central Bank of West African States in 2009. His work primarily focuses on the effectiveness of financing structures, including banks and microcredit systems, in developing countries. Tanimoune has collaborated with CERDI researchers to analyze the impacts of fiscal policies on economic convergence in West African countries. His contributions extend to teaching and developing quantitative analysis software, along with fieldwork in the region, specifically with the Cellule d'Analyse et de Prospective en Développement (CAPED) in Niamey, Niger. He currently supervises research involving various topics pertinent to West African economies, including those related to the West African Economic and Monetary Union and the Economic Community of West African States.
