Biography

Nassim Adhami is an Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program at the University of British Columbia's School of Nursing. Dr. Adhami holds a PhD in Nursing, completed in 2020, with a focus on patient experiences in cardiac rehabilitation programs. Following his doctoral studies, he began a two-year postdoctoral research fellowship at UBC, where he developed programs aimed at improving care transitions for patients with chronic diseases requiring intermittent acute care. Currently, he is completing another postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC), further advancing his research in this area. Dr. Adhami's teaching and research contributions emphasize health equity, rural healthcare, and person- and family-centered care. He has expertise in adult general medicine and critical care, and practices part-time in an outpatient adult cardiology clinic. Dr. Adhami has received several awards, including the Canadian Institute of Health Research Doctoral Award and the UBC Four Year Fellowship for Doctoral Students.
