Biography

Nassim Adhami is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at the University of British Columbia, where he teaches in the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. He completed his Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing in 2020, focusing on patient experiences through an intersectional lens within cardiac rehabilitation programs. Following this, he undertook a two-year postdoctoral research fellowship at UBC School of Nursing where he developed innovative methods aimed at improving the transitions of care for patients with chronic conditions. Adhami is currently completing another two-year postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Northern British Columbia, further enhancing his research program. His research interests center around health equity, rural and remote healthcare, and transition care that emphasizes person- and family-centered approaches for individuals dealing with chronic illnesses. Additionally, he possesses expertise in adult general medicine and critical care, contributing part-time to an outpatient adult cardiology clinic in New Westminster.
