Biography

Natalia Komarova holds a Master's degree in Theoretical Physics from Moscow State University and a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Arizona, obtained in 1998. She has served as a member of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Princeton from 1999 to 2003, and became an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Rutgers University. Komarova worked at the University of California, Irvine from 2004 to 2024 before joining the University of California, San Diego. Her research interests primarily lie in Applied Mathematics, especially in the areas of Mathematical Biology, evolution, and modeling complex social phenomena.
