Natalie Grima is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Genomics Bioinformatics Team at the multidisciplinary Motor Neuron Disease Research Centre, Macquarie University. She was awarded a Bachelor of Science (Advanced) with Honours majoring in Biochemistry and Immunology from the University of Sydney in 2017. Natalie joined the MND Research Centre in 2018 as a Research Assistant in the Genetics and Genomics Team, where she conducted a range of molecular and cell biology techniques to characterize genetic variants associated with Motor Neuron Disease (MND). In 2021, she commenced PhD studies focused on understanding the molecular basis of sporadic MND through the application of genomic and transcriptomic techniques using patient-derived biospecimens. Her current research revolves around characterizing the brain transcriptome related to MND using cutting-edge RNA sequencing techniques.
