Biography

Natalina Salmaso is an Associate Professor in the Department of Neuroscience at Carleton University and holds the Canada Research Chair in Behavioural Neurobiology. She is a licensed clinical psychologist who operates a small private practice in Ottawa, Canada. Her academic responsibilities include teaching and active participation in laboratory research. She studies the effects of sex, gender, and hormones on disease prognosis and resilience, with particular attention to the role of astroglial cells in early development and stress responses. Salmaso has published numerous articles in esteemed journals, advancing the understanding of neurobiology and the impacts of brain injury.
