Dr. Natasha Crowcroft

Biography

Natasha Sarah Crowcroft is an accomplished Adjunct Professor at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto, with over 30 years of experience in public health at local, national, and global levels. Her work focuses on infectious disease surveillance and vaccination programs, aiming to maximize health benefits through immunization. Crowcroft has published more than 300 peer-reviewed scientific papers in prestigious journals, including The Lancet, BMJ, and NEJM, achieving an h-index of 47. She is an Associate Editor for Eurosurveillance and has played a significant role in various public health positions, including serving as Vice President and Deputy Chief Public Health Officer at the Public Health Agency of Canada. Her expertise extends globally with her involvement in committees for the World Health Organization and the Pan American Health Organization. Crowcroft received her medical training from the Universities of Cambridge and London in the UK, and has held prominent positions in public health organizations, including the founding leadership group of Public Health Ontario, where she also served as Director of Surveillance and Epidemiology and Chief Science Officer. In 2019, she launched the Centre for Vaccine Preventable Diseases at the University of Toronto, emphasizing her commitment to advancing public health practices and research on immunization.
