Natasha Ivanova earned her Master's degree in Astronomy and Mathematics from Saint Petersburg University, Russia in 1995, followed by a Doctor of Philosophy in Astrophysics from the University of Oxford, UK in 2003. She held a postdoctoral fellowship in Theoretical Astrophysics at Northwestern University in Illinois, USA from 2001 to 2005, before continuing as a CITA Postdoctoral Fellow in Toronto, Canada from 2005 to 2009. Currently, she is a Canada Research Chair in Astronomy and Astrophysics at the University of Alberta, where her research focuses on theoretical studies of interacting binaries, including mass transfer binaries, common envelope evolution, and stellar evolution codes. She is also involved in stellar hydrodynamics codes and studies of compact binaries in globular clusters. Natasha teaches several courses, including Astro 320 and PHYS 495/595, and has previously taught courses such as ASTRO 465/565 and PHYS 124.
