Biography

Professor Natasha Rajah is a Full Professor in the Department of Psychology at Toronto Metropolitan University, where she also holds a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair. She has a wealth of experience in investigating the interrelations of sex, gender diversity, brain health, and memory, particularly focusing on aging and dementia prevention. Prior to her appointment at TMU in Fall 2023, she served as a Full Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at McGill University for nearly two decades, where she also held senior administrative roles including Director of the Douglas Brain Imaging Centre and Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs. Rajah earned her PhD in Experimental Psychology from the University of Toronto and completed postdoctoral training at the Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute at the University of California, Berkeley. Her research employs a variety of methodologies including structural and functional magnetic resonance imaging, neuropsychological assessments, and genetic analyses to explore the impacts of biological, social, and lifestyle factors on cognitive aging. She leads the Brain Health Equity Aging Memory Lab at TMU and has been actively involved in the Canadian Association for Neuroscience and the Canadian Consortium on Neurodegeneration in Aging. As an editor and contributor to multiple journals, she continues to influence the fields of cognitive neuroscience and clinical neuropsychology.
