Dr. Natasha Sarin

Biography

Natasha Sarin is a Professor of Law at Yale Law School and co-founder of the Budget Lab at Yale. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. Sarin has previously served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Economic Policy at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, where she focused on tax policy and enhancing tax collection through the Internal Revenue Service. Prior to Yale, she was a professor at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and the Wharton School. Her academic research centers on public finance and financial regulation, particularly in the areas of tax policy, household finance, and macroprudential risk management. Sarin's work has been featured in prominent media outlets including The New York Times and The Washington Post, where she discusses issues related to economic policy and financial markets.
