Biography

A consummate musician, Nathaniel Winn discovered his passion for drums in church at the age of 4. A native of Detroit, Michigan, he has not looked back since. Nate has had the pleasure of working with well-known musicians such as Danilo Perez, Robert Hurst, Pat Metheny, and Joshua Redman. His versatile and unique style has earned him opportunities to appear on numerous albums. Influenced by Jazz, Blues, and Gospel from his upbringing, his favorite drummers include Brian Blade, Kendrick Scott, and Calvin Rodgers. Nate graduated from Wayne State University and Berklee College of Music with a bachelor's in music and a master's in jazz performance, respectively. He currently spends his time traveling the world to spread a message of love and hope through music and serves on the faculty of the University of Michigan as a Lecturer in Jazz and Contemporary Improvisation.
