Biography

Nathali Herold Solon Pilegaard is a PhD student at the University of Southern Denmark, specializing in screenplay development for film and television. Her research primarily focuses on the contributions of screenwriters to the sustainable transition of the Danish film and TV series industry. This includes exploring the concept of 'Sustainable Storytelling,' also known as 'Green Storytelling.' Pilegaard's doctoral dissertation, titled 'World-Building Screenwriters,' investigates how Danish screenwriters create fictional worlds, or diegetic worlds, that can extend across various media platforms in a transmedia context. She introduces a new scaffolding typology that consolidates theoretical concepts integral to the creative processes of script development. By expanding on philosopher Donald Schön's concepts of 'seeing-as' and 'doing-as,' her research enhances the understanding of how past experiences and visual tools inform the creative processes involved in script development and the creation of fictional worlds.
