Biography

Nathalia Jimenez, MD, MPH, is a Professor and Vice Chair for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine. She also serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Health Systems and Population Health at the UW School for Public Health. A pediatric anesthesiologist and principal investigator at the Seattle Children’s Research Institute, Dr. Jimenez focuses her research on health disparities and patient outcomes, particularly for Hispanic and Latinx children. Her NIH-funded work has identified barriers and facilitators to access care for these children, emphasizing the development and evaluation of culturally and linguistically concordant programs that bridge care between hospitals and community services. She is currently funded through an R01 from NICHD to test the efficacy of a behavioral bilingual program across four states, aimed at bridging services for families of Latinx children with traumatic brain injury.
