Biography

Nathan Louras, MD, is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan Medical School in the Department of Emergency Medicine. He completed his emergency medicine training in New York City and followed up with an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) fellowship at the University of Michigan. Before this, he trained as a general surgery resident at Boston's St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. Dr. Louras has been part of the core faculty in the division of EMS, with interests including Wilderness Medicine, Event Medicine, and Medical Education. He serves as the director of Emergency Ambulance Services at the Ann Arbor VA Hospital. His qualifications include a residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (Emergency Department), postdoctoral research at Massachusetts General Hospital's Center for Transplantation Sciences, and a medical degree from the University of Vermont Medical Center. He also holds a BA from the University of Vermont College of Arts and Sciences.
