Dr. Nathaniel Mackey

Biography

Nathaniel Mackey works in areas of modern and postmodern literature, U.S. Caribbean studies, creative writing, poetry, poetics, and the intersection of literature and music. He is the author of numerous books and chapbooks in poetry, fiction, and criticism, including 'Blue Fasa' (New Directions, 2015), 'Late Arcade' (New Directions, 2017), and 'Paracritical Hinge: Essays, Talks, Notes, Interviews' (University of Iowa Press, 2018). Mackey holds the Reynolds Price Distinguished Professorship in Creative Writing at Duke University since 2011 and has been a Professor in the Department of English since the same year. His work often explores complex themes through innovative literary forms, reflecting a deep engagement with cultural and artistic movements. Mackey's contributions to literature have earned him recognition and respect within academic and literary circles.
