Biography

Navid Jafari is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Texas A&M University. He specializes in geotechnical engineering and has a strong focus on coastal geotechnics, geoenvironmental engineering, and natural hazards. Dr. Jafari's research includes investigating natural built environments and the behavior of subaerial submarine landslides, as well as the use of dredged material in engineering applications. He earned his Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2015, following a Master’s degree in the same field from the same institution in 2011. His educational journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Memphis in 2010. Dr. Jafari is committed to advancing the field of geotechnical engineering through innovative research and teaching methodologies.
