Biography

Navid Saleh is a professor in the Fariborz Maseeh Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. Before joining UT Austin, he was an assistant professor at the University of South Carolina. His research interests focus on the applications and implications of nanomaterials, evaluating nano-bio interactions within environmental and biological systems, and utilizing nanomaterials for advanced infrastructure. He is also engaged in community-based research aimed at assessing water quality in low-income communities across the U.S. His lab has received funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), the National Institute of Health (NIH), and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). His research group has published 75 peer-reviewed journal articles, garnering over 6,800 citations. Saleh serves as an associate editor for the Journal of Hazardous Materials, which has an impact factor of 7.65, and he is a member of the board for the Sustainable Nanotechnology Organization.
