Biography

Nazila Ghanea is a Professor of International Human Rights Law at the University of Oxford and serves as the Associate Director of the Oxford Human Rights Hub. She is a Fellow at Kellogg College and has previously taught at the University of London and Keele University. Ghanea's research interests are broad, spanning freedom of religion and belief, freedom of expression, women's rights, and minority rights, with a particular focus on human rights in the Middle East. She has published extensively, including nine books and numerous articles and reports, supported by funding from organizations such as the UK Arts and Humanities Research Board and the Economic and Social Research Council. Ghanea has also served as a member of the OSCE Panel of Experts on Freedom of Religion or Belief and has engaged in various academic collaborations, conducting field research and facilitating training in international human rights law globally.
