Dr. Nazmul Huda

Biography

Associate Professor Nazmul Huda is a senior academic leader and Director of Education at the School of Engineering, Macquarie University. He drives strategic initiatives that elevate academic quality, expand program offerings, and strengthen the School’s national and international standing. With over a decade of experience in higher education leadership, he has consistently delivered transformational outcomes for undergraduate and postgraduate portfolios, shaping curriculum innovation, enhancing student experience, and fostering a culture of academic excellence. As a founding academic of the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Mechanical Engineering, A/Prof. Huda played a central role in designing a sustainability-driven curriculum aligned with the evolving needs of the engineering profession. His leadership extends to multiple domains, including serving as the founding Director of Master of Engineering Management and the Master of Engineering (Professional) programs. A/Prof. Huda’s academic mission is rooted in preparing a generation of engineers to lead in sustainability, responsibility, and innovation. His teaching and research focus on energy systems, resource engineering, circular economy principles, and life-cycle engineering decarbonisation technologies. He has been awarded for his contributions to the field, including the esteemed EPD Science Award from the Minerals, Metals & Materials Society, and has been actively involved in international research initiatives.
