Dr. Neda Laiteerapong

Biography

Neda Laiteerapong is a Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Chicago and holds an additional appointment as Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience. She is a board-certified clinical informaticist and an academic general internist focusing on health services and outcomes research. Her clinical interests include Behavioral Medicine, Clinical Quality Improvement, Diabetes Prevention, Health Care Disparities, Health Care Quality & Safety, Health Policy, and Primary Care Research. Dr. Laiteerapong has extensive experience in employing a wide range of research methodologies, including epidemiology, qualitative analysis, and mixed methods. As the Founding Director of the Center for Research on Behavioral Health Implementation Science, she leads important initiatives in health care integration and individualized type 2 diabetes care. She has received continuous NIH and AHRQ funding over her career, contributing to over 130 publications in prestigious journals. Dr. Laiteerapong completed her medical education and residency at the University of Chicago and also serves in roles mentoring junior investigators and directing various clinical fellowships. Her notable achievements include several awards for her research and contributions to the field of internal medicine.
