Neeltje Steeghs, M.D., Ph.D., is a licensed Medical Oncologist and Clinical Pharmacologist. She has served as chair of the Dutch Pharmacology Oncology Group and of the Dutch GIST Consortium. Her main scientific interests include new drug development, performance in clinical phase I and early phase II trials, as well as the inclusion of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics studies. She is particularly focused on the design aspects of early clinical studies. Steeghs has held significant clinical positions including Clinical Assessor at the Medicines Evaluation Board and the European Medicines Agency from 2009 to 2011, chair of the Dutch Sarcoma Study Group, and she was a board member of the Paediatric Oncology Research Foundation between 2010 and 2013. Additionally, she was a Young Investigator for the EORTC Soft Tissue and Bone Sarcoma Group from 2013 to 2016 and chaired the multidisciplinary expert board at the Center for Personalized Cancer Treatment from 2012 to 2015. She also served as Vice-Chair of the Medical Ethical Committee at the Netherlands Cancer Institute.
