Dr. Neena Modi

Biography

Neena Modi is a Professor of Neonatal Medicine and the Vice-Dean (International) at the Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College London. She is a Consultant in Neonatal Medicine at Chelsea Westminster NHS Foundation Trust and has a prominent national and international profile as a medical leader and clinical scientist. Neena leads the multidisciplinary Neonatal Medicine Research Group and the National Neonatal Research Database in the UK. She spearheads the 'Pregnancy Prematurity' theme at the National Institute for Health Research's Imperial Biomedical Research Centre. A fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences, she has held several significant roles, including current president of the European Association of Perinatal Research and past president of the British Medical Association. Neena has actively contributed to children's biomedical research and child health advocacy, participating in various research committees and working groups. She has been influential in campaigning for child health policies and the establishment of collaborative research initiatives such as the Child Health Research Collaboration. Neena is committed to the principles of publicly funded healthcare and has served on the British Medical Journal's Ethics Committee for five years.
