Dr. Neeraja Yadwadkar

Biography

Neeraja Yadwadkar is an Assistant Professor at the Chandra Family Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. She conducts research in Cloud Computing Systems with a strong background in Machine Learning (ML). Her work straddles the boundaries between Systems and Machine Learning, focusing on advancements in systems, machine learning, and hardware architectures to initiate a new era of cloud computing. Neeraja's research has led to the development of novel ML techniques to address complex resource management issues within systems. Additionally, her systems research is influenced by the properties of emerging ML algorithms and evolving hardware architectures. By bridging these complementary fields, her research emphasizes the integration of ML techniques within systems and the construction of systems that leverage ML. Neeraja completed her PhD in Computer Science at the RISE Lab at the University of California, Berkeley, under the guidance of Randy Katz and Joseph Gonzalez. Prior to her PhD, she earned a master's degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, India, and a bachelor's degree from the Government College of Engineering in Pune.
